Strong local forces in front of dotDK
Copenhagen - May 19, 2008 - The dotDK Society today announced the addition of four new Founders who have joined to support the Danish society’s bid to strengthen the administration of the .dk domain.
These strong leaders of the Danish Internet community are:
The four new founders and their joint competencies offer a strong foundation with experience with management and establishment of new organisations, community activities, innovation promotion and IT and knowledge sharing networks.
“This is a critical time for the internet here in Denmark. The tender process for administration of .dk offers a chance for Denmark to move .dk to a higher level of both community involvement and technical security, efficiency, and reliability. The key element for me is that the governance structure of dotDK will allow the end user to be more directly involved and that .dk’s administrative burden will be lowered substantially,” said Dr. Andersen, the group’s speaker
“Denmark’s Domain Act envisions a world class .dk domain run transparently by an involved, informed community that has the benefit of state of the art technology, and the dotDK Society’s proposal has all the key elements to bring this vision to life. I am looking forward to working with the other founders and all members of the Internet community here in Denmark to help .dk reach its highest potential as one of the leading domains of the world,” said Dr. Andersen
Focus on the interests of the Danish internet society
Kim V. Andersen will along with Nikolaj Nyholm, Tor Bloch and Mads Thimmer take over the role played by the international domain expert Tina Dam. Tina has been forced to withdraw from the society due to personal reasons, but the four new forces will continue the dotDK society in the same spirit and with an even stronger Danish profile.
“I have faith in the dotDK vision and Kim, Nikolaj, Tor and Mads are competent profiles with strong ties to the Danish internet community and they will without a doubt be able to ensure that the Danish internet community’s interests are supported in the best possible manner,” says Tina Dam.
dotDK welcomes all interested parties to support the dotDK society. Please visit www.dotdkregistry.org for more info.
